Please sign and fax the attached Petition Form so we can hold our meeting this Saturday. 

As this will be a voting meeting, it is imperative that we have as much homeowner participation as possible.

If you are not sure if you will be able to attend, then please fill out the attached proxy form and give it to another homeowner who will attend or you can send it via fax to the above number.  If you are able to attend, your attendance vote will replace your proxy vote.

Harborview Condominiums

Dear Harborview Homeowners,

 

Several homeowners have made multiple attempts to engage the current board of directors, to communicate in an open forum with homeowners at Harborview Condominiums regarding the work and plans pertaining to restoration subsequent to HHurricane Katrina.

 

On October 15, 2005, a meeting was held in the parking lot across from Joe's Crab Shack, however, no board members attended.  On October 20,2005, a teleconference call was held for a second meeting and, again, was not attended by the president of the board.  In fact, only one current board member participated in the conference call.  Due to their job relocation, that board member proposed a possible resignation of their current board position.  It is apparent that our current board is neither communicating nor interacting with the homeowners.  This, at a time when an active board is most needed.

 

Subsequent to the two meetings held so far, an overwhelming majority of homeowners support the establishment of a five person Construction Committee to oversee the restoration of Harborview Condominiums.

 

We believe that a committee would:

1)      Provide better communication with all homeowners

2)      Assist the Association to maximize our insurance claim reimbursement

3)      Provide for an “Improved Restoration” of the building, instead of merely “fixing” what was ruined.

4)      Allow all Homeowners the opportunity to express ideas and comments on the restoration of the entire complex and their individual units.

5)      Establish and communicate a timeline and schedule for construction projects.

 

Our next step is to have a special meeting with a majority of all homeowners present.  At this meeting we can vote to establish a Construction Committee and (if necessary) remove and/or elect new board members.
